3rd edition Annual International Labour Conference - ‘The Elephant in the Room: Generating Jobs and Imparting Skills for the Future: In the Context of India’s Labour Market’

This is the 3rd edition of CPPG’s International Labour Conference that took place in hybrid mode. The conference brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and labour representatives to explore innovative strategies for generating employment and enhancing the skillsets of the Indian workforce through paper presentations and keynote addresses. We received over 60 abstract submissions from which around 30 papers were shortlisted for presentation across the 6 sub-themes of the conference. Sub-themes: Trends in Employment; Quality of the Jobs: Decent Work Deficit; Role of Labour Regulation: Are Labour Laws Causing Limiting Employment; Gender Disparities in Accessing Work; Skill Mismatch and Training Programmes; Youth Unemployment. Each sub-theme also had one keynote address followed by paper presentations. There was also an inaugural and a valedictory session which had keynote addresses.
