The Lancet Commission on a Citizen-Centered Health System for India was established in December 2020 to identify the reforms necessary to realise Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in India and advance the nation towards the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. The Commission’s Report was released on January 21, 2026, in New Delhi
This Policy Dialogue aims to examine the recommendations of the Lancet Commission to build a shared understanding among stakeholders, surface implementation challenges, and forge consensus on the priority actions required to propel India’s transformative journey toward equitable, efficient, and people-centred health systems. A concept note is attached. The event will bring together health system leaders, policymakers, researchers and experts from academic and technical institutions to engage in evidence-informed discussions on actionable pathways for reform.
The event is in-person and will be hosted at the Goa Institute of Management. We look forward to you attending this Policy Dialogue.
