The project is a collaborative effort between CPPG-GIM and the Living Waters Museum to engage with students, researchers, academics, writers, artists and experts towards facilitating critical thinking on ‘Water in Goa’

Two workshops on ‘Visual Storytelling Methods’ were organised in December 2023. These workshops took place on 1st , 5th and 9th December 2023. The workshop on 1st took place in CR 12 at our campus, the one on 5th was at Mhadei Research Centre Chorla Ghat, and the one 9th at Goa University. The key theme of these workshops was ‘Visual Storytelling Methods’ and were facilitated by Profs. Anjali Monteiro and K.P. Jaysankar documentary filmmakers and retired Professors, School of Media and Cultural Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, (TISS), Mumbai. The workshops were with an interdisciplinary cohort of approximately 16 participants (including the 6 Goa Water Stories Fellows) – young professionals, apprentices, architecture, art, media studies and social sciences students.

The focus of these workshops was to mentor and facilitate: (i) multimedia, ethnographic, anthropological and sensorial documentation practices through a process of sandbox play and instigate capacity building and art education across multi-mediums; (ii) through a process of artistic learning and validation promote dialogues towards an inclusive ecosystem amongst diverse stakeholders (intersectionality and interdisciplinary framework); (iii) strategies of research methodologies. The processes of these interventions were designed for an understanding with sensitivity towards the community’s sociocultural and political settings and the individual events or relationships with the environment.

The Multidisciplinary Cluster on Mhadei, Goa University also collaborated with GIM and the Living Waters Museum to design and conduct these workshops. Workshop at Sunapranta, Goa: CPPG-GIM in collaboration with the Living Waters Museum and Sunapranta Goa Centre for the Arts organized a ‘peer-review workshop’ with the 6 Goa Water Stories Fellows on 29th January at Sunapranta, Altinho Panaji.
